Americans are Tired of the War? Why?
GS Don Morris, Ph.D.
How many of us have had to fight in the 120-degree heat? How many of us have authentically had our daily lives impacted by the war? How many sacrifices have each of us really made?
I hear the war has gone too long, too many people are loosing their lives, and it is an unjust war-all justification for Americans to be tired!
Have you heard of Operation Banner? Yesterday it concluded-it took 38 years to complete the mission- Operation Banner is the Army's longest continuous campaign in its history with more than 300,000 personnel serving and 763 directly killed by paramilitaries.
Whose army you ask? British troops were sent to Northern Ireland in 1969 after violent clashes between Catholics and Protestants. For many reasons it took this long to successfully complete the mission.
Let us as American citizens have the same resolve; at least have the integrity and courage to examine the real reason you want to run away from our professed enemies. Finally, enough with the spouting of “talking points”-how about hearing from the real you?
