Gaza – Ma'an – The spokesperson of Hamas, Sami Abu Zuhri, on Tuesday affirmed the steadfastness of the movement in its readiness to open negotiations with western leaders.

Abu Zuhri expressed interest in the recent statements of Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, who urged western states to enter into dialogue with Hamas.

Many other European nations have launched a similar appeal.

Abu Zuhri issued a statement declaring that the recent European pronouncements reveal the West's realization of the mistakes they have made in their dealings with Hamas.

Comment:Hamas, the evil group, the group who turned Gaza into Hamastan. The West does not talk to such barbarians, so we said. When we stood firm in this position, we had control. however, over time, one after another of the Western leaders has decided to "talk, simply talk" to these people. This becomes a victory in the eyes of Hamas and supports their belief that the West is weak and cannot stand its ground. Simply keep repeating the same mantra and demands-the West will ultimately crack! It is this lack of fortitude that is to be our downfall-we have become soft of spirit and weak in soul!
